Robert Kaufmann cuttingart, knifes
Im glad last weekend Manfred from Feinschmuck gave me an article in the newspaper to read about Robert Kaufmann. At his website, about the first words you read “Die schönsten Messer der Welt” (the most beautiful knifes of the world). That´s a ambitious statement and I think it is true. Unfortunately I could not visit him by now but I definitely have to see him for a chat, to see his knifes / works, take some photos and even ask him to craft a knife for me. The most difficult task is to just choose – only one knife.
Here a video about Robert Kaufmann in german.

Very nice!
I must do a post re a little pocket knife I picked up whilst riding from London to Malaga.
My friend and I stopped for lunch, somewhere south of Madrid in the middle of nowhere. I’d spied these little knives behind the counter – a selection of Laguiole knives, they were beautiful so I purchased one as they were keenly priced. I only wished that I’d picked up two or three more for presents.
100 % right, a Laguiole knife is also on my list I have to own. I must have inherited the fascination for knifes from my mother. Do not forget to charge your friends a coin, be-cause it is not advised to give knifes to friends as a gift. (it is said to cut the friendship). And yes, please make an post about your knifes.
ah, I didn’t know that (charging a coin or cut the friendship) – I gave my Bestman a knife when I married, best I get him to give me some money!
I do think you have a healthy interest in Knives, in a good way.
yes do it quickly :). Same “cult” or “believe” with pearls, you would give away “tears”.
