Boxwerk München:
Some weeks ago having lunch at the Frontküche I saw a flyer or was it a sticker of the Boxwerk. Checking their website I decided that I have to train there soon. The Boxwerk logo, their “cultural” approach combined with boxing and the whole concept which stands behind this club seems to be very interesting and well rounded. Can´t wait to see it in real.

Schmalznudeln Café Fischhut
Schmalznudeln Café Fischhut:
The Café Fischhut is a must if you are in Munich close to the Viktualienmarkt and suffer from “hunger”. I usually eat the Schmalznudeln there “to go” but this time we went inside and I have to say they are even more “out of the fat/pan”. Great stuff!
Ed-Meier store Munich
Ed-Meier store Munich:
When Uwe from Amtraq told me the Topo Design stuff arrived at the Ed-Meier store and fits just perfectly in the tasteful shop, I had to have a look. Ed-Meier is know for their handmade goodyear welt shoes since 1596 but you will find more than that in the flagship store. A great mix of traditional products and accessoires in classic colors and patterns but enriched by lively and newer ones as well.
Particularly the fine selection of pocket knifes I did not expect or the skull & bones suspenders. They have their “Gamsbar” close by which I somehow missed to see. But for sure this shop will be on the agenda for future visits in Munich.
Kaweco Sport fountain pen
Kaweco Sport fountain pen:
Thanks to Thomas Dirk from Merz b. Schwanen who brought my attention to this great pen, while having lunch together at the Frontküche. Later that day, I found the Kaweco Sport fountain pen @ Manufactum in Munich. Kaweco produces these pens for Manufactum based on the design from 1935. With only 10,5 cm long, a good addition to your EDC. For a very detailed review for this pen check this site.
Red Wing leather work gloves

Red Wing leather work gloves:
I´ve been yesterday for a quick visit to Munich and as most of the time visited Burghard Pflug´s Gasoline Alley. Hard to leave his shop without finding something. This time I got a pair of Red Wing leather work gloves. With the right jacket or trousers a man hardly needs gloves but sometimes I wished I had one. So they had to be constructed well and this pair fitted my requirements as I can say now.
– Thick cowhide leather
– Reinforced patch on palm and thumb
– A leather which will develop nicely by it´s use in time
Ventilator Dornbirn – vintage shop
Ventilator vintage shop in Dornbirn Austria:
The Altwarenhandel Ventilator shop for vintage stuff is one of my favorite shops. A great selection of stuff from all kinds of interests, nicely presented. Top quality with reasonable prices. So if you are in Austria, Vorarlberg region have a stop here in Dornbirn.
Nude pocket knife from Gasoline Alley

Nude pocket knife from Gasoline Alley – Munich:
Last Saturday just before I left Burkhard Pflug´s Gasoline Alley in Munich, I found this small pocket knife. Had to buy it. Could not identify the manufacturer but never mind, visit him to get one. (closed on Mondays!)
Cafe Jasmin München – Munich

Cafe Jasmin Munich – München:
Thanks to my sister Gloria I finally made it inside to the Cafe Jasmin. I walked by a couple of times but never made it. We´ve been in this wonderful place last saturday for breakfast. Just perfect, good food, drinks, music and the people and staff as well. Highly recommended if you are in Munich sometime.

Vee´s Cafe and Cakes – Munich

Vee´s Cafe and Cakes – munich / Vee´s Kaffe und Bohnen (und Kuchen).
A true jewel and a coffee to stay place I decided to share with you today. In Munich right behind the Viktualienmarkt there is Vee´s, a great place if you need a break, a good coffee and a good piece (or two) of cake.
With what to start? Vee Tismer and her husband are not only roasting superb coffee she is also a master of amazing cakes. On the 7.2.2007 I bought her book “In meinem Paradies steht ein Backofen” – “In my paradise is an oven to bake cakes” by Ulrike von Jordans. The book is full of great images and recipes and more than worth to buy. The spirit of the book is really showing her passion about cakes. If you are too lazy to bake them by yourself you can have a variation of them daily baked at her cafe. A true insider and it never failed to even impress friends who live in munich.
Gasoline Alley – München
Gasoline Alley München / Munich a true shop for dudes by Burghardt Pflug. A must see if you are in Munich. The few photos I shot are only a glimpse of the treasures he has hoarded in his shop. And they are even for sale. The collection of old and new leather jackets and red wings are in the back of the shop and are not shown here.
