I swear I thought a  Red Wing 8103 recommended by Eric would be my next. But when I saw the above 8138 Red Wing even 1 size too small I had to buy it. This boot for about 80 Euros in nearly mint condition , no wear on the leather just a bit on the soles. Great patina, lighter brown at the toes getting darker to the heels.
I really wonder how he had worn them?
They came done with the laces for “step in” and tiny “loops”.
The denim color on the inside of the shoe tongues also puzzles me, does someone really wears his jeans really that high or inside the boot?
How can you leave so little marks on the leather, never any crawling home from a bar/nightclub?

Element – Emerald Collection launch shoe care set giveaway: Elements new Emerald Collection was launched during Bread & Butter in Berlin. At the launch party the first 100 guests received a special gift (made by Seil Marschall), thanks Kiki for the invitation.

The collection launch of this new brand was a success. Not just the gift was great, the party with lots of interesting folks from all over the world and lots of Jameson Whiskey was outstanding.

Ha just found a video posted by Highsnobiety of the event (sec. 9 you can see me in the background near the entrance.)

This week I saw an auction with a fixed price about this boots and it was instantly sold, luckily the seller had another one and I was quicker this time.

The seller got this boots right out of an barn from a friend in Sweden.

Amazing craftsmanship and I guess after some wear and break in he will look awesome. The only thing which troubles me is the leather sole and the iron  parts on it. See the image of the heel, it has a iron rim like a horseshoe. I think about putting a rubber sole onto them, what do you think?

I managed to get some more of this boots, a model from 1943 a bit different design,  leather and I modified it now with a rubber sole.

The only reference I could find about a similar boot is:

Received these nice boots about 3 month ago and using them mostly outdoors an now since a couple of weeks on work with the boats they had to withstand a lot. As a friend from Damn yak says “treat them like you hate them”, they will only look better. Check out their look when they were new and decide for yourself. Thorogood boots new.
