Italian navy/sailor pocket knife by Simav – Napoli:
At a small antique shop in marrakech i found this great old sailor pocket knife. A copy of the famous WWI and WWII british navy/army knife made by Simav – Napoli around 1940. A small blade, a massive Marlinspike, a tin opener and a screwdriver all you need onboard. After a bit of a polish, some balistol oil and sharpening of the blade, it is ready to use.

Uschi Obermaier drawing

Uschi Obermaier – drawing by Maria Wallenstein.
About 2 month ago I visited the ArtDesign Feldkirch which is an small but fast growing Design fair in Vorarlberg and saw a drawing from Maria Wallenstein after one of the famous photos of Uschi Obermaier. The original photos are too expensive and I really liked the way how Maria was drawing her. I bought the small “USCHI” and ordered a bigger one for me. Thanks to Maria from the Bauhaus University in Weimar.

The metal brothers – they can do everything

When I first saw this place, I could not believe it to find such experts when it comes to metal in such a low profile place (speaking from the house before I entered the workshop). Down to earth guys who can do anything within a short time out of metal when you really need it. We had to get some special bolds out of V2A with 24 hours, no problem the brothers said, knowing that it was an emergency. The next day I got my camera with me to take some images I want to share with you. Machines all about 30 years + and you really feel they have been working with them daily – and will not change them for a CNC version in their life.
Stéphane Vetter – Night Photography
Stéphane Vetter – Night Photography:
An photographer/artist who seems to be a lot outdoors at night. His photos seem to me to be from another planet. The effect on his images is the extreme aperture of his camera to capture images at night. Even the first photo is shot by night at shows a “moonbow”. For more of his work have a look at his gallery.

know how to use a knife
It’s a fact that men like knifes and even some woman do. But most of us lack the skills to use them properly. The video above is with German comments but it should be easy to figure out what the technique is about.
D-Rad R0/4 motorbike from 1924/1927

Above some images I took from a D-Rad R0/4 motorbike from 1924/1927. Its from “Deutschen Industriewerken” aus Berlin Spandau. This bike is no. 21547 from only 25500, made between 1924 – 1927. It took me a while to figure out what brand this bike is, but due to the plate on the front and the net I learned something new. The bike was standing right in front of Seil Marschall, what a match. For more infos about this kind of motorbike check
