What started as a way for Bob to make his cancer diagnosed wife Linda laugh by shooting images of himself wearing a pink tutu turned out to be a huge public success as well.
The Careys founded the Carey Foundation to help others by fighting cancer. A great story/project worth to share and even funny on its way.
Best of Istanbul, Edogan take a break!
It makes me really sad to see “my Instanbul” and the people of Istanbul suffer. I had great moments there. Once on a backpacking trip to Turkey and by luck I ran intoFatih Akin and had a great time with him and his filmcrew while they filmed The Edge of Heaven in Istanbul. And once celebrating new year 2010/2011. How can you not fall in love with a city with such a great history, with so good food, so friendly people and so rich in culture? And it makes me angry seeing someone attacking it. My fullest support, at least a bit, to the people on the streets of Istanbul – sadly only digital but worth a try.
If you look at the images above closer you might recognize the be-cause blog logo. Other stories like one of the best straight razor shaves (ok it was a shavette razor) or the story of the find of my Zeus ring at the grand bazar by meeting a Armenian silversmith. I hope the best for the liberty and safety for the people of Istanbul and Turkey.
Ristorante Bologna Varese:
Travelling to Italy, food is always one reason why we love this country. Just after the border of Switzerland there comes Varese, and Ristorante Bologna is the place to see and to eat, if you want it rustic and authentic italian. We enjoyed to stay there for two nights and were lucky to get at least one table to celebrate Maria´s birthday and sadly the reservation for the other Birthday guests the next day did not work out so well – anyway, Italy was great, as always.
Super Mamika Goldberger – Sascha Goldberger:
The nephew and successful French photographer Sascha Goldberger wanted to cheer his sad grandma (91 years old) up by taking some bizarre images of her. What started as a small project is now known worldwide and grandma aka. Super Mamika Goldberger is quite star.
