Iron Heart x DC4 Party Summer 2013

Iron Heart x DC4 Party Summer 2013 – Berlin Bread&Butter:
Probably the post with the most images but how do you decide which ones to take and which not, anyway. First of all thanks to Anie Fields who informed and took us to this great party after a visit at her shop. Impressed by all the bikes in front of the DC4 Japanese Denim Store, then the unique characters. And when you enter the shop there are a lot of top of the class japanese denim brands, that´s what the name says and that´s what you get! Inside the store I ran into Olaf who offered me a private tour who told me a lot about the brands, Japanese Denim, the steel shrink to fit bathtub in the cellar, that cold beer is gone and the chain stitch hemming service they offer on their unions special machines. After that experience, I have to say, another store you shouldn´t miss when you are into Denim and Quality goods. And for sure the place to go if you searching advice or want to buy a Japanese pair of Jeans.
Saint James x Twothirds naval shirt

Saint James + Twothirds naval shirt:
Walked by this great shirt at the Bread&Butter Summer 2013. Did you know that striped shirts were so popular by sailors be-cause they tend to be easier to be spotted when the went overboard + that classic marine striped shirts got 13 stripes. The shirt can be ordered for 100 Euro here. Enjoy to watch the Movie “UNE HISTOIRE D’EAU — MADE IN FRANCE” or the History of the sea/water.
pure blue japan & Syoaiya

pure blue japan & Syoaiya:
Im far from being a denim expert, but the denim i saw at the stand of pure blue japan & Syoaiya was the most extraordinary in color, texture and look for me. Not much to say about it, i hope the macro shoots speak for himself. The uneven weaving caused by old looms and the rich indigo color will result in a great development which you see on the worn samples at the end of this post.
Thanks to the Bread&Butter to bring companies like this to Berlin.
Fein und Ripp – Pike Brothers Party
Fein und Ripp – Pike Brothers Party – Bread & Butter 2013:
At the Fire Dept. I had the chance to have a talk with Fabian from Pike Brothers and he invited me to Fein und Ripp at the party. Traditional Bavarian food and beer was served there by Fabian and it was the place to go at the wednesday after the Bread & Butter fair.
Fein und Ripp can be described as a well stocked Pike Brothers homebase. But as you can see it´s another unique shop far away from being normal which is surely worth a visit. The interieur is carefully selected and seems natural in there. Family run by father and his two sons with a great dedication to quality and deadstock items. Check their news section for keeping updated about their latest finds.
The Heritage Post – Feinschmuck #6 July 2013

Thedileathers
Thedileathers @ Harry Damson Store Friedrichshain Berlin:
I was very fortunate to run into Thedi & Alex who were in the Harry Damson Store in Friedrichshain – Berlin. Thedi with his handsome appearance, who could easily be the the more greek looking twin of Jeff Bridges was hard to overlook in Berlin. His stand at the Bread & Butter at the Fire Department was always crowded. So I had the chance to have a talk with him and a closer look at his leather products there. Thedi who used to design for Harley Davidson Europe surely knows how to design and produce great stuff. Either trim cut leather jackets, rugged belts or leather bags he got it all right. See more of his products on the Thedileather Website.
Thedileather and Harry Damson products will be distributed by Alex / Cottontrip aka Dr. Love now.
Held Vodka – Berlin 1921
Held Vodka Berlin since 1921 – Medicine by Dr. Love!
Thanks to Alex aka. Dr. Love for sending me something of his “medicine”! What a great packaging and the true and witty words on the postcard.
Held Vodka from Berlin made there since 1921. Read their story below. My story with Held Vodka will be told after the Vodka got some rest and being used to cure “maladies” with some friends. We will enjoy for sure. If it tastes just half as good as it looks, it will be a great tasting for sure. cu soon!
The Meisner family founded their brewery and spirit factory in Upper Silesia in 1906. In 1921, the Berlin residents of the family developed the recipe for Held Vodka.
It was the beginning of the “Roaring Twenties”. Held Vodka was distilled and sold in small amounts from a backyard in Berlin for many years. When the wild times of the twenties came to an end, the recipe was put on the shelf.
In the war years of 1944/45, the Meisner family fled with their entire knowledge via Hamburg to Heide in Schleswig-Holstein. After re-founding the Robert Meisner Spirit and Liqueur Factory there in 1952, they have continued to produce regional spirits successfully.
In 2005, through a fortunate coincidence, two “Berliners by choice” approached the Meisner family with the idea of re-launching Held Vodka. So, the Held Vodka renaissance began, following the original Berlin recipe.
According to the 1921 tradition, the primary raw material is sugar beet mash, triple distilled and specially filtered. Held Vodka is pure and unadulterated, therefore perfect to enjoy straight and un-chilled.
Polaroid Lightmixer 630 Camera
Polaroid Lightmixer 630 Camera:
Another great shoot for a birthday present by one of my sisters is this great Polaroid Lightmixer 630 Camera. It´s in absolute mint condition with the manual and two films by the Impossible Project. The manual was printend in 1982 so I guess the Polaroid Camera is from around the same age.
Im really exited about taking the first images with this camera. With the price of each image of about 2,5 Euro you carefully choose what images you take and it adds to the joy when the result turns out as imagined. Probably the best mix of taking images. Not to have them instantly and too quick as with a digital camera. And not so slow to develop and unpredictable results as with a traditional 35mm film camera. The time to wait for the images to show on a polaroid was always fun and special – if not magic to me, and probably still will be.
