Boxwerk München:
Some weeks ago having lunch at the Frontküche I saw a flyer or was it a sticker of the Boxwerk. Checking their website I decided that I have to train there soon. The Boxwerk logo, their “cultural” approach combined with boxing and the whole concept which stands behind this club seems to be very interesting and well rounded. Can´t wait to see it in real.

I have to think twice before I borrow it to someone! Probably not another like this one on this planet. The engraving was for free and nothing better came into my mind to make it really personal and a bit I tried to figure out if they would censor it.

Marmorkuchen (marble cake) with milk:
Ok the first try wasn´t that pretty but yesterday I got it right. It´s really obvious for me that there is a coincidence that spring started with my two cakes I backed. The biggest mistakes on cake one was too less buttering of the form and not breadcrumbed. I enhanced the recipe a bit due to the size of the cake form:
250g butter
250g sugar
250g flour
4 eggs
3 spoons of real cacao powder for the other half of the dough
1 brief of vanilla sugar
a bit of salt
a bit of baking powder
a bit of rum
50 minutes on 180 Celsius, thats it! Best served with fresh cooled milk from a farm.

From the makers of Food Inc. another documentary worth to see and to spread. Just two days ago we had a talk about, that kids right now will not grow as big and healthy as we did. The availability for good and affordable food is low. And also the art to process them for your family and friends. It is shown all the time on TV but mostly forgotten and seldom put into practice in a daily routine.

Coffee Break – self roasted coffee beans:
Some close up shoots of my just roasted coffee beans, made in the Whirley Pop popcorn pot. Not possible to get an espresso more fresh and tasty. And another nice side effect, the whole flat is enriched by coffee roasting flavour.
