A glimpse into the vintage crypt of Red Wing Frankfurt

Yesterday I had the chance to get a glimpse into the vintage crypt of the oldest Red Wing store in Europe. Kami Hashemi the owner took the time at the Munson Ranger 8012 release party to guide me trough his personal Red Wing Collection. Some of the oldest Charles Beckmans, Pecos, Moc-Toes and Frankfurter are lined up there. Another personal highlight was to have a look of a Red Wing Catalogue dated back to 1949. The new Munson Ranger is amazing I can tell, but for more on that head over to Life Time Gear he will post soon.

Red Wings 9013 cycling:
Images were taken on my way to Konstanz (Ecke 32). Over the last few years I developed quite a dislike for stuff out of synthetic fibres. Some of my sportsstuff is still out of it, but I try to replace as much as I can and when it makes sense. The feeling of being static and the fact that nobody knows exactly what is in this fibres turns me more into cotton and wool (check the Woolpower stuff).

Im sick of cyclist hardly hitting the 20km mark and outfitted for a Tour de France race with stuff from Tschibo.  Anyway, the Red Wings 9013, Pike Brother Roamer pant, Tellason Topper denim shirt, and the smaller Swiss Army Backback proved well on a approx 70 km sunshine ride.

When I first saw the Red Wing classic-heritage collection, this boot the 9013 was the first choice for me, unfortunately it was not available at my size. As time passed by, luckily exactly my size showed up on eBay.

Worn now for 2 weeks it shows the first characteristics – more to come.

Red Wing 1908 boots – 100 Anniversary Model:
My first Red Wing boot, a 1908 moc toe, the 100th anniversary model. Bought at Manufactum about 2 years ago. If I´m getting it right the Label say´s produced in 2005. Manufactum sold them for a great price at about 180 Euros if I remember it right. Compared to the other vintage/classic models at a standard of about 260 Euros.
