Heuer 510.501 Chronograph glass fixed by Peter Gernsberger – RLX5513:
Used, abused and finally I fucked up the glass by dropping it twice on the floor. So this tough dude was on rest for about half a year now. On my recent trip to Frankfurt I was glad to meet Peter Gernsberger from RLX5513. He said he can fix it, so I gave him the chrono without any receipt and hardly knowing him, apart from some messages and spending some hours with him on that day. Precious to me, not just be-cause of it´s “steetvalue”.  Peter fixed the Heuer within a bit more than 24 hours. No worries about the chrono being lost by DHL and probably to see my face in joy and disbelieve when he gave it back to me. Agreed was he will fix it within 2 weeks due to his busy schedule. The surprise hit me without any clue.

I´m hardly able to thank him enough for that favour. But in the trustful network of friends and friends of friends which I expanded also via be-cause there are ways to payback “debts” and favours.

Red Wings 9013 cycling:
Images were taken on my way to Konstanz (Ecke 32). Over the last few years I developed quite a dislike for stuff out of synthetic fibres. Some of my sportsstuff is still out of it, but I try to replace as much as I can and when it makes sense. The feeling of being static and the fact that nobody knows exactly what is in this fibres turns me more into cotton and wool (check the Woolpower stuff).

Im sick of cyclist hardly hitting the 20km mark and outfitted for a Tour de France race with stuff from Tschibo.  Anyway, the Red Wings 9013, Pike Brother Roamer pant, Tellason Topper denim shirt, and the smaller Swiss Army Backback proved well on a approx 70 km sunshine ride.

I got this around 30 years old sailing drysuit by Henry Lloyd made in England by an mid-old Sailor. He is to big to fit in anymore. He had to drive to Munich to buy this in his apprenticeship. The orange is faded a lot and got heavy abrasions marks all over but I guess it´s still waterproof (90 %) I hope. I will put it into test soon on my first regatta. Let´s see how it does.

For sure the best was the day on the Moonbeam IV but the other days were wonderful as well. If you watch your steps and plan where to go you hardly run into the tourist masses and can have a great time. I will post one of my favorite restaurants within the next days.

My alarm clock collection – just give me 5 more minutes!
Tomorrow I have to get out earlier than I´m used to, so I guess to post some images of my “friends” who will wake me up is more than appropriate. No honestly only the yellow Remington Rperry does his job right now.
Why?
– The Mebus alarm clock works fine, the tick-tack isn´t a real problem. More the task to wind him up once a day is a difficult one for me.
– The Krups would have been my choice, he is cool has a well done snooze trigger (just hit him). But he gets somehow quite noisy after a while a real “brrrrrrmmmm”.
– The Remington Sperry has got a illumination and an absolute annoying ring tone, and he will not stop to ring until you hit him. He wont stop until he dies so better you switch him off before you go on holiday.  The bad thing is the snooze and the stop button are next to each other. No way I would hit the right one, so I always make sure I hit both.
He is compared to the Krups ultra silent. The Instruction of the backside is amazing, they even tell you to hit him in case of a malfunction. A great detail.

To backup all of them for sure there is the mobile phone also doing his service.

Here some detail images of the small rucksack by Seil Marschall. The design and the creating of the backpack is really well thought of. Good strong seams, strong leather, thick canvas and to add the copper rivets. I also really like the “fast exit / opener” which you can see on pic 4. The backpack comes also in other and more decent colors, check the product page for more details. A rucksack to last a lifetime which makes the choosing of the color quite hard.
