Oxtail soup – Ochsenschwanzsuppe:
After being the 2nd day sick and off work, this oxtail soup will do its part of giving me a kickstart for tomorrows work. The recipe is simple, get the stuff for making a goulash and take oxtail slices instead of pure beef.

Needful things – Amtraq showroom visit:
Last saturday was a very eventful day. When ushered by Uwe in his showroom in Frankfurt – Sachsenhausen it felt like being a character of “Needfull things” by Stephen King. Only difference, much more than one item you wish to have – now. Products he distributes are tasteful accompanied by black and white photographs, collectibles, design classics, a glass of Äpplewoi and great sound from vinyl. Thanks a lot Uwe!
Chestnut leather boots with felt – Santa Claus style:
Quite a while ago I´m hunting for this kind of boots now. Actually after my last years debut as Santa Claus for a family member. For one thing I´m really interested in how the comfort and control is with this kind of “no laces no buckles” boot is. And the other thing is to figure out how to get in and out.
This boot has probably the nicest brown patina I ever saw on a pair of shoes/boots. A wonderful brown color like a fresh opened chestnut. They got the old school wooden shoe nails on the sole and the horseshoe style reinforcement of the heel. The pull on loops are all broken, this might be the reason it´s impossible to get in right now for me. (the size seems to be ok). Would be too sad to sell them on Ebay, but I will give it a harder try later and hopefully I´m getting out again.

Volls Darmstadt – Essence of menswear:
We arrived friday night in Frankfurt. Straight after breakfast on saturday we made our way to Darmstadt to finally meet Klaus Voll. Unquestionable Klaus got the finest menswear available around the globe in his shop. Hard to give an overview, but have a look at his well made online shop with much better images I could have taken. 100% Essence of menswear is there.
Thanks for your time, hope to see you soon again!

Coca Cola belt buckles and rings by Feinschmuck:
A while ago Feinschmuck did these samples for Coca Cola. The confirmation for a licence to produce these belts and rings hasn´t been given yet. So not for sale, but nice to look at anyway and a great design and craftsmanship.
Harris Tweed – a romantic history:
I thought I understood the rules for a Harris Tweed, but I missed the fact that the Tweed has also to be handwoven. Or as seen on this video “footwoven” by cycling the loom.
“Handwoven by the islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides, finished in the Outer Hebrides, and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides.”
Rehmen to Liegstein hiking in Vorarlberg Austria:
Yesterday we did a hike from Rehmen – Au to the Liegstein (1596m). The architecture of the Bregenzer Wald region is just amazing we walked by more than a dozen mountain huts we would like to life in. The Liegstein, a cliff/drop of about at least 300m was the highlight of the hike (basejump?). It took us while to get closer to the edge and to look down. The snow from last week, the surrounding panorama of the nearby mountains and still a bit of a autumn vibe were quite enjoyable.
